Audio ACIM 34 hours of A Course in Miracles on
one CD
This CD contains 31 MP3 files, one each
for the 31 chapters of the ACIM Text. It is the “Corrected” HLC
version. It is approximately 34
hours in total length. The
“Voice” is that of the computer, generated with voice synthesizing
software. Some folks aren’t
too found of it but I like it just fine!
Then again, I’ve spent thousands of hours listening to
“Eddie” in the proofing work over the past 3 years. “Eddie” has turned out to be
a far better “proof reader” than any human! He doesn’t miss ANY mistakes! And he makes very few of his own!
Audio publications of ACIM
are generally very expensive, sometimes hundreds of dollars, and involve dozens
of tapes or CDs. Using MP3
technology, we get the whole Text onto a single CD. Using a computer, we have no
“actor” to pay for the reading and no sound editing expenses. So we can keep the cost of this
exceedingly low. The Audio CD is $5
when ordered with any other package, or $10 as one of the “two CDs for
$20” package. If you just
want the audio CD and nothing else, it is $15. You won’t find a cheaper one. Neither will you, at the moment, find
one that is more accurate and true to the original manuscript!
Hear for yourself, not
everyone likes this but I do! Switch your sound on and click HERE to listen to “Eddie” reading the 7
Rules for Decision from Chapter XXX. 11:07 minutes.
This is NOT a
“professional studio recording” but that voice and its unusual
rhythm grows on one.
I was astonished when
I first made the Audio tracks for the HLC version of ACIM, how many passages
which had struck me as odd or mysterious when read on paper seemed to make
perfect sense when heard through the ear.
I spent thousands of hours driving, listening to this voice. The Course was first delivered orally,
and only later written down. Many
turns of phrase seem to me to work better orally than in writing. The experience of listening to this
material, if you give it time, is “out of this world!” Now, for a very nominal sum, the
opportunity to listen is available.
The CD is playable on
a computer or any MP3 capable CD player (most newer ones are MP3 capable). You certainly CAN burn your own
“standard audio” CDs from these MP3 source files. That would require some 33 CDs.
